I don’t know what to title today’s post. Either way, I’m still happy to be writing for you… if there’s even a “you” reading this right now. I can’t ever be sure.
This morning, I discovered the news that my sweet Marillion will be performing a special one-night concert at the Pompeii Amphitheatre next July. Yes, that Pompeii Amphitheatre. The one that Pink Floyd took by storm all those years ago. Regrettably, the show is happening the same week that I will be in Chicago for Rush. Otherwise, I may very well have considered making a trip out there. I’d finally be making my first trip to Europe. Oh, well. Maybe some day.
Besides that, I leave tomorrow midmorning to travel to Cincinnati to see Steve Hackett. This tour is being promoted as kind of a mishmash of early Genesis material, which is completely fine by me. Steve is easily one of my favorite acts to see in concert. He and his band always give every performance their all and the musicianship is immaculate. He’s a regular on Cruise to the Edge, as well, so it won’t be long after this show that I get to see him again on the 2026 cruise.
