I took a sick day last Thursday, so I missed my blog entry for then. But I’m back now, and wrapping up the last couple of days at work before I fly home to California for Thanksgiving. Having moved to Omaha in January, it’s been over ten months since I was last on California soil, the longest I’ve ever been outside the Golden State, my home state. I’ve missed it a lot lately. I’ve missed the familiarity of the L.A skyline, the palm trees, the sunny weather, and some favorite places. I’m renting a car so I can make the most of my time at home.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m not unhappy with the life I’ve set up here in Omaha. It’s got more to offer than lots of people give it credit for, but at heart, I feel like I’ll always be a West Coast girl. We all have our roots and sometimes they call you back, you know?
Anyway, that’s pretty much it for this entry. I have tomorrow to finish getting everything together, and then I board an early flight Thanksgiving morning.
