The stats results I received in my email this morning regarding the visibility of this blog were abysmal to say the least. I know I’ve only been at this for a few months and that it takes time to build an audience but, still… ouch!
Moving on from that introductory pity party, I picked up some picture frames at HomeGoods the other day, which provoked me to title today’s entry after the Mussorgsky piano suite, which, as we know, was famously reimagined by ELP. I realized that, despite having numerous photos of myself with various rock and prog stars over the years, I didn’t have any of them displaying on the walls of my apartment. I figured such monumental life moments deserved more than just being confined to digital settings on my phone and laptop. That said, printing physical pictures at the copy store long fell out of favor in my household once we incorporated smartphones into our lives, and at the moment, I’m not sure if it’s even possible to get photos from my phone printed physically like in the old days. I’ll definitely be researching that further. In the meantime, I resigned to printing the pictures on regular paper, through my personal printer. They’re not as high-resolution as I’d prefer, but it’ll do for now. I included photos of me with Steve Hackett, Martin Barre, Carl Palmer’s ELP Legacy, Adrian Belew, and Yes in 2011. I have a separate frame dedicated to photos of me with the members of Marillion and, of course, a specially painted frame for my photo with Greg Lake.
Still reeling from that evening with Yes!
