Happy Thursday, all! It’s a gray early evening here in Omaha, with a flash storm consisting of heavy rain, small hail, and strong wind coming and going. The first piece of good news I have to share is that I finally stopped dicking around and put my foot down. I decided to adopt my foster bunny, Sonny. Having had him for a little over 2 months, I couldn’t run away from the connection we had made in that time. Even though he’s around 6 years old, he’s still my little boy, and I want him to spend the rest of his life with me. He’s made me laugh quite a few times when he’s hopped around and explored some of my music memorabilia, although sometimes he’d get too curious and start chewing. My white Marillion “Made Again” poster now has some nibble marks on the top as a result. Anyway, here’s some photos of when he’s taken an interest in my music collection:

My personal favorite is the bottom right one of him posing in front of my music books and movies. I love his sophisticated gaze! Sonny the Prog Bunny!
I also have a couple of new concerts coming up that are happening right here in Omaha! Since there’s not a guarantee a band or artist will stop here when they tour, I make a point to never take for granted a time where someone of interest does play a show here. Having to travel more extensively for shows is one of the cons of living here in Omaha, whereas back in L.A., there wasn’t ever a question when an act announced a tour. Either way, my Live Nation mailing list subscription led me to discover that Beck was making a stop at the Steelhouse in October, the venue where I saw Yes in November. I’m not a huge lover of standing room-only shows, but the few fixed seating options were more than I wanted to pay, so I plan to watch casually from the floor, without stressing over getting up close or anything. I also grabbed a seat to see Benson Boone at the CHI Health Center in September. He’s younger than me and is one of the latest pop stars to be cast into the limelight. I only know a couple of songs, so I didn’t spend a lot for this show, either.
Last, I can’t believe that I, an avid Marillion lover for nearly a decade, never subscribed to H’s Patreon account in support of his podcast, The Corona Diaries. A membership was inexpensive, so I joined it, and listened this afternoon to an episode that H actually recorded on the last day of Cruise to the Edge with Adrian Belew. I’m about 383 episodes behind, so I have some listening to do!

This morning, I discovered this email sitting in my inbox. I keep in mind that it may be an automated message, but the fact that he addresses me as Michelle instead of J Michelle makes me hope it was personally written. Either way, I’m happy to have received it, and am always honored to support H and his bandmates in any way I can manage.
