I ordered some cute items off of Marillion’s Racket Records store earlier today. It had been a while, with the last time being when they had a sale where all of their Blu-rays were only £5 (about $6.71). Before that, I think it had been years. After seeing them for the first time in October 2016, the Racket Records website may as well have been my browser homepage, because I was ordering from it constantly. I like calling the year 2017 “the year of Marillion.” I think my entire purchase history is still available on my account, but I found that their content and merchandise was so accessible to me as a college student. They did not, and still don’t, charge exorbitant prices for their albums or other merch. Most of those purchases in 2017 were part of “The Marillion Project,” where I bought around 17 or so copies of F.E.A.R to send to my friends in different parts of the country. That was how strongly I felt about them, and that’s a passion that continues today.

The Omaha Public library branch that serves as my go-to location has its weekly book sale every Thursday and first Saturday of the month. I’ve found lots of great book and movie selections, but until now, I never checked out their CD offerings. I did that today and came away with some great, unexpected finds, all for $1 each. I rarely, if ever, shop for books at retail price because it’s just so expensive. I think supporting your local library is a great way to give back to your community while also saving yourself a ton of money.

I have a ton of CDs sitting in my room that I would love to use. MY Playstation 2 console can play CDs, but I have had mixed experiences with the quality of the audio, as it tends to skip or freeze frequently, so I bought a mid-priced vertical CD player that you can mount on the wall. I’ve seen a few ads for these on Instagram, so I decided to give one a try. I’ll post photos of it when it gets to me.
